Verse of the Day

Verse of the day
Light of the world – Jesus.

For Wednesday, June 19 2024, Verse of the Day.

Now, if a boy can be circumcised on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses may not be broken, why are you angry with me for healing a man’s whole body on the Sabbath?

— John 7:23   Verse of the Day.

Thoughts on Today’s Verse of the Day….

The first Jewish patriarch to undergo circumcision was Abraham. The purpose of this symbolic ceremony was to serve as an outward, visible, and everlasting reminder. Of God’s relationship with His people, the people of Israel.

As a result, according to Genesis 17:12, a male kid was to be circumcised on the eighth day following birth. The regulations enacted by Moses reiterated this instruction (Leviticus 12:3).

Verse of the day, religious leaders are shallow and careless in their judgment.

This required the circumcision of confident infant boys on a Sabbath day. Here, Jesus makes note of the Pharisees’ belief that this is required to uphold the law of Moses correctly.

In this passage, Jesus alludes to the uproar after He healed a man on a Sabbath day (John 5:1–9). He is making a point about hypocrisy here.

When Jesus healed a man who had been disabled for years, why would the Pharisees? Reject him if he is “breaking” the Sabbath to carry out a small ceremony. Was acceptable?

The issue is that these religious leaders make snap decisions and need more substantial judgment, as the next verse clarifies. —Verse of the Day.

My Prayer…

As we enter a new month today, may the Lord, by His Spirit, change my story and incubate my life anew to achieve exploits beyond my expectations in Jesus’ name. It’s well with me. Have a glorious day and Happy New Month.

And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. Exodus 33:19.

May the Goodness of the LORD go with me on this journey of life and take me into a realm of new beginnings. My request for Divine Counsel is granted in Jesus’ name by His mercy.

It’s well with me. —Verse of the Day.
