Verse of the Day

Verse of the Day for Saturday, 12 Sept 2026.
Again, the Lord called, “Samuel!” Samuel got up and went to Eli, saying, “Here I am; you called me.” “My son,” Eli said, “I did not call; go back and lie down.”
— 1 Samuel 3:6 Verse of the Day
Thoughts on Today’s Verse of the Day
This verse repeats the action of the previous two verses almost exactly (1 Samuel 3:4–5). Both Samuel and Eli must have been a bit confused. One difference in this second incident is that the Lord is quoted as calling out to Samuel with emphasis: “Samuel!”
Once again, young Samuel does not hesitate but immediately jumps up and runs to where Eli is lying. He says it again: I’m here because you called me.
Eli again tells Samuel that he did not call and instructs the boy to go back and lie down. Apparently, Samuel does so without protest. Whether either Samuel or Eli has begun to suspect anything unusual by now is not stated. — Verse of the Day.
My Prayer…
Dear Divine Source of Abundance and Grace, I come before You with a humble heart, trusting in Your infinite goodness and mercy.
As my soul seeks to overflow with joy, peace, and prosperity, I ask for Your blessings to fill my life to the brim.
May my vats overflow with abundance, not only for my own benefit but also so that I may share and uplift others in need.
Help me cultivate a spirit of gratitude and generosity, knowing that every gift comes from Your loving hand. In faith, I surrender my desires to You, trusting Your perfect timing. Amen. — verse of the day.
