We must develop that father-child relationship.

And they heard the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day (Genesis 3:8). How the Lord cherishes intimacy by spending quiet time with a man he loved so much that he gave his only begotten Son. Similarly, we must learn to keep quiet time with God. Here lies the secret to developing that father-child relationship between God and us.

Consequently, the easiest way to have a close encounter with Jesus is to maintain regular engagement with the Holy Spirit for 15, 30, 45 minutes, 1 hour, or more. Thus, people refer to this as participating in Holy Ghost School, which includes daily quiet time, devotion, and more.

As this is a time for meditation or for keeping a covenant with the Lord, who does not fail and whom you would not wish to fail, consider the most convenient time for you when selecting minutes, hours, or periods of the day—morning, afternoon, evening, or night.

Good morning, Holy Spirit. Learn how to keep quiet.

Visit the same closet at the same hour, sit in the same seat, read the Bible, devotional journals, or books, or meditate in the Spirit. Furthermore, ensure you stop at precisely the same time each day.

You will notice that the Holy Spirit keeps time. Even before you enter the closet, you will see Him already there, waiting for you to teach you how to spend quiet time with God.

Keep your phone switched off, do not answer it if there is a knock at the door, and steer clear of distractions. Let’s say you choose 6 a.m. or 6:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. daily. At 6 a.m., you’re seated, and at 7 a.m., you’re on your feet. Now, maintain quiet time with God, but watch out for distractions.

The secret to a successful quiet time with the Lord is to maintain your chosen time consistently and rigorously.

It is time (for example, 6:00 am). Please do not take it for granted. Be punctual and make your presence known to the Holy Spirit. Then speak, saying, “Holy Spirit, I have come to the ark of Your presence at Your banquet table. Good morning, Father. Give me the finest wheat, the best meat, and the best wine to drink.”

This is not a prayer session; you may pray before or after attending the Holy Ghost School. It is about conversing with Him as He teaches you while you read.

Do not miss how to keep quiet time with God.

Quiet time with God nourishes your spirit, enhancing the fruits of the Spirit within you while simultaneously eliminating the vices you were born with or those implanted by Satan.

Furthermore, as you are in His presence, the Lord also instructs you. As you open the Bible to study, say something like “Lord, guide me through” and read for 30 minutes if you have decided to do so.

Study the Bible or use books for spiritual growth, personal development, and character transformation. These are the finest spiritual resources for maintaining quiet time with God.

While reading, remain in the Spirit and stay alert. He is watching you and can intervene at any moment. You are there to develop a communicative relationship with Him. Keep this in mind. As we remain faithful in our fellowship with Him, He will begin to empower us until we are nearly 95% vice-free.

It is a gradual process, using long nails and heavy hammers; He will begin to knock off those vices the devil has planted in you, one by one. As a result, you will notice spiritual changes in your life as you continue your devotion.

However, when you finish your daily covenant time, mark your place, close the Bible or the Christian spiritual book you are using, and thank the Holy Spirit.  Thank the Holy Spirit as follows:

Thank you, Holy Spirit, for bringing me to the ark of your presence on Mount Zion and for nourishing me at your table with the finest wheat, the best meat, and the finest wine. Thank you also for giving me the bread of presence and the water of life of Christ to drink, so that I may hunger and thirst no more.

For me to hear You audibly, whether in dreams, visions, revelations, sent words, or any other means You may choose. Father, thank You for establishing a perfect relationship of communication with me. Amen
