Verse of the DayÂ

For Sunday, 14Â Dec 2025, Verse of the Day.
So, Boaz took Ruth, and she became his wife. When he made love to her, the Lord enabled her to conceive, and she gave birth to a son.Â
— Ruth 4:13 Verse of the Day.
Thoughts on Today’s Verse of the Day
The LORD will reward you for your deeds, and you will receive a full reward from the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have sought refuge!” This was the blessing Boaz hoped for Ruth when he first met her, because he greatly valued her sacrifice for Naomi.
Ruth 2:12. When Ruth proposed to Boaz two months later, she challenged him to be the channel for his blessing by saying, “Spread your wings over your servant” (Ruth 3:9). Boaz agreed to do his best. God respects both of their decisions.
The tales of Naomi and Ruth include only two instances of God acting directly. The first was when He ended the famine in Bethlehem (Ruth 1:6). God governs the fertility of humans and the land.
Nevertheless, all other decisions and actions that brought us here were made by individuals whose hearts were aligned with God’s will. This underscores the importance of acting according to our beliefs, as only then can we truly fulfil God’s will.
God desires to work with and through us.
This is how God typically communicates with people. We can hope for His divine intervention to bring us comfort, safety, or blessing. For His purposes, we might pray that He perform miracles.Â
More than that, He invites us to participate in His work, even though He wants us to rely on and trust Him to provide. He desires to work with and through us to demonstrate that we are active participants in His divine plan rather than merely passive recipients of His kindness.Â
God provided food for the Israelites. Naomi decided to return to Bethlehem. Ruth chose to go with her and arrange her care. Boaz decided to follow Ruth’s example. God gave them a son to complete the task. That son led to King David, who in turn led to Jesus the Messiah, through both human choice and divine intervention (Matthew 1:1–16).Â
We wouldn’t have this story about self-sacrifice, family loyalty, lovingkindness, and a Moabite woman descended from the world’s Saviour if God hadn’t asked Ruth to join His work and she hadn’t accepted—if He had used more conventional family lines. — Verse of the Day.
My Prayer…
Heavenly Father, we approach You with humble hearts, seeking Your divine protection, power, and favour in our lives. We trust in Your unfailing grace and mercy, believing that Your love surrounds us and shields us from harm.
As we endeavour to walk in faith, grant us the wisdom to share these blessings with others, reflecting Your goodness in all our actions. In Your holy name, we pray, Amen.
Fill our hearts with hope and faith, drawing us nearer to You and one another as we walk in Your ways. We ask these things in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen. — verse of the day.

Genesis 1:28 – Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Exodus 34:10 – The Lord said, “I am making a covenant with you. Before all your people, I will do wonders that have never been done in any nation worldwide. The people you live among will see how excellent the work that I, the Lord, will do for you.Â
Genesis 8:22 – “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.”The Psalm of Victory 23:5 – You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. The Lord provides for us more generously than our hearts can desire. The enemies can do nothing about God’s generosity but can only watch and admire the victory the Lord has given us.
Romans 8:38 – 38 – For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Isaiah 54:17 – No weapon formed against thee shall prosper, and thou shalt condemn every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment. This is the heritage of the LORD’s servants, whose righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
Genesis 1:1 – In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. We shall largely adhere to the essential, fundamental, and unambiguous concepts. The Bible’s opening statements unequivocally declare that God, who we will eventually learn to be the God of Israel, created the earth and the sky. In other words, He made everything in the natural universe, including our globe and everything on it, the skies, the heavens, and outer space.
