Verse of the DayÂ

For Thursday, Oct 30 2025, Verse of the Day.
The name of the first is the Pishon; it winds through the entire land of Havilah, where there is gold.
— Genesis 2:11 Verse of the Day.
Thoughts on Today’s Verse of the Day
Verses 10 to 14 describe the territories surrounding Eden by commenting on the great river flowing out of the region and dividing it into four smaller rivers. These details correspond to rivers or lands we recognise in the modern world, aiding our understanding of where the area of Eden was, despite not knowing the specific location of the garden.
The first of the four rivers outlined is Pishon. The name Pishon means “to leap” and may have derived from a physical description of the river itself. The river could have been turbulent, winding, or steep, with waterfalls and eddies. Pishon is described as flowing around the land of Havilah.Â
Scholars suggest that Havilah may refer to Arabia, a region renowned for its abundant gold deposits. Pishon would represent an Arabian river or one connected to the Persian Gulf. Unlike the two other rivers identified in this passage, the Tigris and Euphrates, we lack an explicit link between this “leaping” river and any known waterway in the modern world. — Verse of the Day.
My Prayer…
I pray for Your divine favour to be upon me in all areas of my life – my relationships, my career, my health, and my finances. May the Holy Spirit guide and strengthen me as I seek Your will in prayer.
May my prayers be infused with faith and trust, knowing that You are a faithful and loving God who hears and answers prayers. May I never forget to offer You thanks and praise for all that You have done and continue to do in my life.
I pray that my life reflects Your glory, and that through my prayers, Your Spirit is stirred in my life and in the lives of those around me. In Your holy name, I pray. Amen. — verse of the day.

We shall largely adhere to the essential, fundamental, and unambiguous concepts. – The Bible’s opening statements unequivocally declare that God, who we will eventually learn to be the God of Israel, created the earth and the sky. In other words, He made everything in the natural universe, including our globe and everything on it, the skies, the heavens, and outer space.
